Seminole employee's thumb bitten off by alligator

An employee of the Seminole Tribe of Florida had his thumb bitten off by an alligator on Tuesday.

The unidentified 38-year-old was trying to trap the alligator when he was bitten. Doctors at Broward General Medical Center are trying to reattach his thumb.

According to news reports, the employee drove himself to the emergency room at a clinic before he was airlifted to the Broward facility.
