Tribal member resigns North Dakota Legislature

Dawn Charging, a member of the Mandan, Hidatsa, and Arikara Nation, has resigned from the North Dakota Legislature to work for the Department of Agriculture.

Charging, a Republican, represented the Fort Berthold Reservation and parts of six counties. The Republican Party can nominate someone to serve the remaining nine months of her term.

Charging is taking a job as intergovernmental affairs director for Native American programs.
