State investigating shooting of dozens of bison

Officials in Colorado are investigating the slaughter of at least 32 bison on a private ranch in Park County.

Officials are trying to determine whether a group of hunters had permission to kill the bison. Private hunting is legal in the state but the landowner must give permission.

"There are just hundreds of acres with carcasses laying out there," Park County Sheriff Fred Wegener told The Denver Post. "There are carcasses and hides."
