Denver March Powwow draws over 1,000 dancers

More than 1,000 dancers took part in the 34th annual Denver March Powwow in Denver over the weekend.

The 1,200 dancers and 37 drum groups represented more than 90 tribes and First Nations from the U.S. and Canada. They competed for prizes, exercised a lot and met up with friends and family.

"This is our home," Little Bird Lamb of Oklahoma City told The Denver Post. "This is where everyone bands together as a people."
