Dormitory helps Indian students feel at home

Indian students who attend high school in Flagstaff, Arizona, don't have to feel disconnected from their culture.

The Kinlani Bordertown Dormitory houses 150 Indian students from the Navajo, Hopi, Apache and other tribes. They are able to study at Flagstaff High School without having to make the long trek from their reservations.

Being around other Indian students also means they can feel close to their heritage. "Here, people aren't afraid to express it," freshman Nicolas Begay told Cronkite News Service.

The dorm is funded through a grant from the Bureau of Indian Affairs.
