BIA holds economic development summit

The Bureau of Indian Affairs is hosting the 10th annual Great Plains Tribal Economic Development Summit on Tuesday and Wednesday.

The Great Plains Regional Office of the BIA puts on the summit in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Featured speakers include JuniKae Randall, director of Circle of Nations Publishing; Elsie Meeks, executive director of First Nations Oweesta; and Lance Morgan, CEO of Ho-Chunk Inc., the economic development corporation of the Winnebago Tribe of Nebraska.

“We are excited about this 10th anniversary milestone and the exciting economic growth in Indian Country it represents,” acting regional director Alice Harwood said. “The summit provides a place where resources and ideas connect with the many excellent economic opportunities available in the Great Plains region and throughout Indian Country.”
