NCAI to release national meth ad campaign

The National Congress of American Indians and the Partnership for a Drug-Free America are launching the first national public service campaign targeting methamphetamine in Indian Country.

NCAI President Joe Garcia will announce the campaign during the Gathering of Nations powwow in Albuquerque, New Mexico, on Friday. He will be joined by federal and state officials.

The campaign is designed to reach Native youth and adults. It consists of radio and print spots, as well as posters and can be viewed at http://www.ncai.org/meth.

The effort is funded by the Bureau of Indian Affairs, the Department of Health and Human Services, and the White House Office of National Drug Control Policy.

Friday's event takes place at 2pm, Albuquerque time, in the northeast corner of the parking lout outside of "The Pit" arena at the University of New Mexico.
