Maryland governor signs bill for state Indian holiday
Maryland Gov. Martin O'Malley (D) signed a bill to designate the Friday after Thanksgiving as American Indian Heritage Day.

“Since we were here all the time, we should have a day,” Mervin Savoy, the chairwoman of the Piscataway-Conoy Tribe, told The Examiner.
