Tlingit people upset by auction of warrior's helmet
A rare Tlingit warrior's helmet was auctioned for $2 million in Connecticut.

An anonymous woman on the East Coast came into possession of the item. It was likely taken from the Tlingit people in Alaska in the late 18th or early 19th century.

"I was very, very, very sad that something as important and as significant as a war helmet is going into a private collection," Rosita Worl, the president of the Sealaska Heritage Institute, told The Juneau Empire. "Who knows when we'll ever see it again."

Only about 90 to 95 warrior's helmets are known to exist. . No information was disclosed about the private bidder.
