Colorado agrees to streamlined NAGPRA process
The Native American Graves and Repatriation Act Review Committee has approved an agreement to streamline reburial of remains in Colorado.

The agreement between the state and 45 tribes in the area applies to remains inadvertently discovered on state lands. It allows reburial within as little as 100 days, The Denver Post reported.

As part of the agreement, the Southern Ute Tribe and the Ute Mountain Ute Tribe will rebury 37 sets of remains held by the Colorado History Museum. Another 250 remains at the museum are still awaiting reburial.
