Injury at issue in Narragansett smokeshop raid case
Experts presented conflicting testimony about an ankle injury suffered by a member of Narragansett Tribe of Rhode Island who was arrested during the state's July 15, 2003, raid of the reservation.

Adam Jennings' ankle was broken by state trooper Kenneth Jones during the rain. Reginald F. Allard Jr., a former police officer, testified that Jones used excessive force.

Lt. Darren Delaney, an instructor at the state police training academy, said Jones acted properly. He said Jennings' was resisting arrest as troopers shut down a smokeshop on the reservation.

Jones took the stand and said Jennings refused to comply with police orders. He will continue his testimony today.
