Turtle Mountain Band still recovering from tornado
It's been nearly two months since tornadoes hit North Dakota but the Turtle Mountain Band of Chippewa Indians is still trying to recover.

The tribe lost 55 homes during the July 7 storms. Some tribal members suffered injuries though no one was killed.

The tribe set up a relief fund but donations have slowed. And since damage was assessed at $500,000, below the $1 million Federal Emergency Management Agency threshold, the tribe doesn't have many options.

"Our tribe is not capable of recovering from the tornado on our own," Anita Blue, the tribe's emergency manager, told the Associated Press. "We don't have an emergency fund to help these people recover so we have to rely on local, state and federal agencies."

The main concern is finding homes for the upcoming winter.
