The Office of the Inspector General at the Interior Department released three reports today on allegations involving Minerals Management Service employees.

The report say 13 current and former employees engaged in sexual activity with representatives of energy companies. The employees also accepted gifts from the companies, the OIG said.

"The single-most serious problem our investigations revealed is a pervasive culture of exclusivity, exempt from the rules that govern all other employees of the Federal Government," Inspector General Earl E. Devaney said.

Alcohol and drug abuse were pervasive, Devaney said in a letter to Interior Secretary Dirk Kempthorne.
