San Manuel Band donates $1M to Havasupai Tribe
The San Manuel Band of Mission Indians of California is donating $1 million to the Havasupai Tribe of Arizona, whose economy has been wrecked by a flood in the Grand Canyon.

The donation will be presented to the Havasupais on Thursday. "We are glad that we can help," a spokesperson for the San Manuel Band told The Arizona Republic.

The tribe closed the Supai village, its main source of tourism income, after floods washed through the canyon in August. The village won't reopen until spring 2009.
