Gila River Indian Community to elect governor
Members of the Gila River Indian Community of Arizona go to the polls on November to elect a leader.

Gov. William Rhodes is running for re-election. His opponent is Jennifer Allison-Ray, the tribe's current lieutenant governor.

Rhodes survived a recall effort earlier this year in a dispute over management. The biggest issue facing the tribe now seems to be its finances.
