Sentences for 16 in Red Lake cocaine conspiracy
A federal judge sentenced 16 people in connection with a large cocaine distribution conspiracy on the Red Lake Nation in Minnesota.

The defendants received a variety of punishments for their roles in the crime. There were prison terms, supervised releases, drug treatments and probation.

In total, 34 people were indicted in connection with the drug ring. The case was prosecuted by the U.S. Attorney's Office in South Dakota because the U.S. Attorney's Office in Minnesota recused itself due to a potential conflict.
