Tonto Apache Tribe elects brother of ex-chair
The Tonto Apache Tribe of Arizona elected Ivan Smith as chair on Saturday.

Smith is the brother of Jeri Johnson DeCola, who resigned as chair in October following an alcohol-related incident at the tribe's casino. Smith previously served as chair as well.

DeCola indicated she wanted to run for her job again but went on a vacation instead. “I was gone in the Caribbean when that happened,” she told The Payson Roundup.
