Minnesota tribes saw record voter turnout
Members of Minnesota tribes voted in record numbers on November 4, Native Vote Alliance of Minnesota said.

The non-profit organization worked to increase voter registration and turnout on the Mille Lacs, Red Lake, Fond du Lac, Leech Lake and White Earth reservations. Executive director Sally Fineday said the effort paid off.

"This year, we did exceptionally well because of the fact we had, for the first time, funds to do the work," Fineday told The Bemidji Pioneer.

At Red Lake and Leech Lake, for example, voter registration exceeded the goal of 250 on each reservation.
