Alaska House condemns radio hosts over remarks

The Alaska House of Representatives voted to condemn the remarks of two radio show DJs after Alaska Native women complained.

During last Wednesday's Woody and Wilcox show on KBFX 100.5, one of the DJs made a joke about being a true Alaskan. “Have you made love to the Yukon and peed in a Native woman?" the DJ said.

Michelle Davis of Anchorage called the station and filed a complaint with the Federal Communications Commission. Davis used to work for Standing Together Against Rape, which helps victims of sexual assault.

The station has apologized for the comments. Disciplinary action is possible.
