Toddler injured in drive-by shooting released

A 23-month-old toddler who was injured in a drive-by shooting on an Alberta reserve was released from the hospital, the Canadian Press reported.

Asia Saddleback was at her home on the Samson Cree Nation when she was hit by a bullet. She recovered by the CP said the bullet remains lodged in her body.

An 18-year-old male and a 15-year-old male have been charged in connection with the shooting. The 18-year-old is reportedly linked to one of the 13 gangs operating in the area.

Asia was shot after 12 incidents of gun violence over a three-week period on the reserve.
