Leech Lake chairman fires more than 20 directors
Arthur “Archie” LaRose, the new chairman of the Leech Lake Band of Ojibwe in Minnesota, has fired more than 20 division directors since being sworn in July 4.

“It’s like the president of the United States comes in, he brings a whole new cabinet,” LaRose told The Bemidji Pioneer.

Lenore Barsness, a tribal member who was serving as human services director, was among those fired. She said LaRose targeted her because she does not support him politically.
