Opinion: No hog farm for Yankton Sioux Tribe
"I've been watching the struggle the Yankton Sioux tribe has been having with the new hog confinement being built west of Wagner.

My girlfriend said to me, "What's the problem? I don't see what the big fuss is about."

I said, "Do you see this thing going up in Deadwood, the Black Hills, Mount Rushmore, Pierre, any white neighborhood, Sioux Falls or next door to you?"

She said, "No, I don't see any of that."

And to me, that's the problem.

I asked her, "How would you like that thing to be right next to you?"

She said she wouldn't. None of us in any of those communities would like a hog confinement right next door."
