White Mountain Apache Tribe reaches water deal
The White Mountain Apache Tribe of Arizona has reached a settlement over its water rights.

The tribe will receive 27,000 acre-feet of water per year from the Salt River and the Little Colorado River and 25,000 acre-feet per year of Colorado River water. The deal also allows the tribe to lease some of its water to local communities and to build a reservoir on the reservation.

The settlement requires Congressional approval.
