Turnout appeared to be low as members of the Chippewa Cree Tribe of Montana voted in a delayed general election.

Only about 450 people voted as of yesterday afternoon, The Great Falls Tribune. They were asked to choose between state Sen. Jonathan Windy Boy and Raymond Jake Parker for chairman and to fill four council seats.

The election was supposed to be held last November but it was tied up by a tribal court case. "A lot of people are saying, 'It's about time they got this over with. Get on with it,'" Kathy Henry, the tribe's election board chairperson, told the Tribune.
