Protesters hit Dry Creek Band over disenrollment

Members of the Dry Creek Band of Pomo Indians held a protest on Sunday to call attention to a disenrollment dispute within the California tribe.

Nearly a quarter of the tribe's membership faces removal. People being targeted say greed and corruption are behind the effort.

"Our board is valuing this casino rather than our members," protest leader Ross Cunningham told The Santa Rosa Press-Democrat of tribal leaders' efforts to remove 73 adults and 70 minors.

Amid the dispute, tribal leaders started recall petitions against each other. An election that was going to be held in December was canceled.
