Native radio summit set for April 1 in Portland
Representatives of more than 60 Native radio stations are expected to attend the ninth annual Native Radio Summit takes place April 1 in Portland, Oregon.

The summit, hosted by Native Public Media, reaches out to the 33 Native radio stations on the air. The field is growing -- 30 more licenses have been awarded to Native media outlets since October 2007.

At the summit, Native Public Media will announce the pilot project locations for the New Horizons Project. The study will help Native stations serve their communities.

The summit takes place during the 34th annual National Federation of Community Broadcasters conference. Native Public Media is co-hosting three workshops geared towards Native radio stations on April 2.
