A 16-year-old boy has been charged in connection with the drug-related deaths of two girls from the Paul First Nation in Alberta.

The teen, also a band member, is accused of two counts of criminal negligence causing death, two counts of criminal negligence causing bodily harm, four counts of trafficking in a controlled substance and failure to comply with an undertaking.

The first two counts are for the deaths of Trinity Dawn Bird, 15, and Dominique House, 14. The girls died after taking ecstasy at a wedding on the reserve.

The second two counts appear to related to two more girls who became sick after taking the drug. Reports say one of the girls was hospitalized but they conflict on whether she has been released.

The four counts would appear to be for providing drugs to the four girls. Reportedly, nine girls total were taking ecstasy at the party.
