The Coushatta Tribe of Louisiana is seeking to diversify its economy beyond gaming.
Chairman David Sickey said the tribe has looked at ventures in the agriculture, agritech, technology and environmental fields. "We are open to joint ventures, partnerships, co-investments," he said at an economic development forum the tribe hosted, KPLC reported.
Tourism is one area the tribe is entering. The Coushatta Heritage Project and Center opens this fall.
