White Earth Band sets constitutional convention
The White Earth Band of Ojibwe is set to ratify a new constitution this weekend.

The constitution creates an independent judiciary. It eliminates a blood quantum requirement for membership and addresses land and jurisdiction issues.

If the constitution is ratified at the convention, it will be presented to tribal members for approval, Chairwoman Erma Vizenor said.
