Northern Cheyenne soldier dies at Army post
The U.S. Army is investigating the death of a member of the Northern Cheyenne Tribe of Montana.

Sgt. George A. Kellum, 23, died April 4 at Fort Benning in Georgia. He was stationed there after serving in Iraq and in Germany. He enlisted in April 2004, right out of high school.

Kellum died of a gunshot wound to the head, the Associated Press reported. Initial findings point to a suicide, a Fort Benning spokesperson said.

Kellum is being buried today on the reservation. Gov. Brian Schweitzer (D) ordered flags to be flown at half-staff.
