Former Wampanoag chairman sentenced to 41 months
Glenn Marshall, the former chairman of the Mashpee Wampanoag Tribe of Massachusetts, was sentenced to 41 months.

Marshall argued for a sentence of less than a year, saying he was victimized and pressured by others. But federal prosecutors called his case one of greed.

Marshall ended up apologizing to his tribe for making illegal campaign contributions, stealing tribal funds, filing false tax returns and fraudulently receiving Social Security benefits. He was ordered to pay $383,000 to the tribe and $85,000 to the Social Security Administration.
