Blackfeet Nation reaches law enforcement deal
The Blackfeet Nation and Glacier County, Montana, have reached an agreement over law enforcement on the reservation, The Great Falls Tribune reports.

The agreement is only temporary. But it allows for cross-deputization of tribal and county police officers again.

"We're saying that if a non-Indian can arrest an Indian in Glacier County, an Indian should be able to arrest a non-Indian in Glacier County," council member Rodney "Fish" Gervais told the paper.

The tribe is also negotiating with the Bureau of Indian Affairs to resume control of the tribal police force.
