A member of the Oglala Sioux Tribe of
South Dakota has been charged in federal court with assaulting a tribal police officer.
Robert Little, 25, allegedly hit officer DaDrea Rabeler in the face, struggled with her and started choking her during a July 12 incident on the Pine Ridge Reservation. Rabeler said she shot Little after warning him to release her, according to documents filed in federal court.
Little faces up to 20 years in prison if convicted. Federal prosecutors say he has a criminal history and a longtime association with gangs on the reservation.
