Native language software available for iPhone

Thornton Media Inc. has developed software to help people learn Native languages on the iPhone, the iPod Touch and the Nintendo DSi.

A version available on the iTunes Store features the Cherokee language. But the program can be customized for any Native language.

"Our approach to language tools has always been to make language learning fun” Thornton Media CEO Don Thornton told The Cherokee Phoenix. “Your kids will be playing with video games anyway. They might as well be learning their language."

A free, trial version of the Cherokee language program is also available through the iTunes Store.
