Navajo Nation President Joe Shirley Jr. is the apparent victim of an Internet hoax.
Someone sent a message from Shirley's Yahoo mail account on Monday, falsely telling everyone in his address book that he was stranded in London. The email asked people to send him $1,600 so he could return home.
The incident is under investigation, Shirley's chief of staff told the Associated Press.
