Apology included in Defense spending bill
Rep. Dan Boren (D-Oklahoma) said he is working to ensure the Native apology resolution remains a part of the fiscal year 2010 Defense appropriations bill.

Boren introduced the House version of the apology. It passed the Senate on Tuesday after it was included in Section 8106 of H.R.3326, the spending bill.

The House and the Senate will now work to resolve any differences in the Defense bill. "Our nation has waited far too long to make this official apology to the native peoples in Oklahoma and the U.S," Boren told The Tulsa World.
