Muscogee Nation of Florida requests recognition
The Muscogee Nation of Florida hopes to gain recognition through an act of Congress.

S.530 and H.R.1899 were introduced earlier this year. The bills say the federal government has had relations with the tribe through treaties and other action as far back as the early 1800s.

“We deserve to win. We may not, but we deserve to,” Chairwoman Ann Tucker told The Panama City News-Herald.

No hearings have been scheduled on the bills.
