Couple named Indian parents of the year again
A couple from Oklahoma has been named Indian Parents of the Year again, this time by the National Indian Education Association.

Brent and Kennetha Greenwood were honored last year by the Oklahoma Indian Education Association. Brent is Ponca and Chickasaw and Kennetha is Otoe-Missouria.

"We keep them involved in Native American dancing and heritage, and we sing our tribal hymns at church,” Brent Greenwood told The Oklahoman. "The kids also practice their Otoe-Missouria language. It’s also important they be involved with our faith and being spiritually grounded.”

NIEA's annual convention takes place this week in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
