'The Only Good Indian' explores boarding schools

"The Only Good Indian" is making its debut in Kansas, where the film about the boarding school experience takes place.

Director Kevin Willmott shot the film in Kansas in the summer of 2007. It stars Winter Fox Frank as a Kickapoo teen who is sent to Haskell in the early 1900s but escapes to return to his people. Wes Studi plays a bounty hunter who tries to capture Frank.

The film has been well received at a number of festivals but it hasn't picked up a distributor in the U.S. Willmott hopes to sell the DVD online and in stores.
