Bill helps public schools get rid of Indian mascots
On November 19, Rep. Frank Pallone (D-New Jersey) introduced H.R.4152, the Native Act to Transform Imagery in Various Environments.

The bill encourages public schools to discontinue the use of Indian mascots and imagery. It authorizes the Department of Education to provide grants to pay for new uniforms, paraphernalia or facilities.

The bill was referred to the House Committee on Education and Labor.
