Edward Smiley, the former director of the Farmington Indian Center in Farmington, New Mexico, is wanted on embezzlement charges.
Authorities say Smiley took more than $20,000 over the course of several years. He resigned last month amid an investigation into the center, which he ran for 11 years.
The center is operated by the city.
