Newcomer chosen to lead Saginaw Chippewa Tribe
Newcomer Dennis "Vince" Kequom Sr. has been elected chief of the Saginaw Chippewa Tribe of Michigan.

Kequom was sworn in this morning after being chosen by fellow council members. He is among seven newcomers to the tribe's governing body.

Only three incumbents survived the tribe's recent election. Among those ousted was former chief Fred Cantu.
