Navajo voters back government reform initiatives
Voters of the Navajo Nation backed two government reform initiatives that were championed by President Joe Shirley Jr..

The first reduces the size of the Navajo Nation Council from 88 seats to 24. The second gives president a line-item veto authority over budget legislation.

Both proposals were approved by a large margin, the Associated Press reported.
