Two members of the Navajo Nation who serve in the New Mexico Senate voted against a controversial domestic partnership bill on Thursday.

Sen. Lynda Lovejoy and Sen. John Pinto were among 10 Democrats who voted against the measure. That helped seal the 25-17 defeat for the bill.
