Mille Lacs appeals court calls for new election
The appeals court of the Mille Lacs Band of Ojibwe in Minnesota says the tribe should hold a new election for chief executive, The Mille Lacs Messenger reports.

The court said former executive Melanie Benjamin should be allowed to run. She was ousted from office amid allegations of financial mismanagement and has been charged in tribal court.

Marge Anderson was elected to the executive post in December. The court said she should remain in her position until a new election is held.
