North Dakota tribe partners with Census Bureau
The Mandan, Hidatsa and Arikara Nation of North Dakota is signing a partnership with the U.S. Census Bureau.

The tribe will emphasize the importance of taking part in the 2010 Census. The numbers play a role in how federal funds are distributed.

The Census Bureau hopes to recruit tribal members to work on the census. Having "friends and neighbors" as census workers improves the accuracy of the count, a local official said.
