Volunteers bring free health care to Ute Tribe

The Remote Area Medical Volunteer Corps is wrapping up a four-day visit to the Uintah and Ouray Indian Reservation in Utah.

The Ute Tribe approved the visit, which began on Sunday. On that day alone, volunteers saw 285 patients and provided $123,979 in services at no cost.

"Nobody does this on the scale we do in this country," Stan Brock, the organization's founder, told The Salt Lake Deseret News.

The corps depends entirely on private sector donations.
