Youth continue 400-mile Fort Robinson Outbreak Run
Nearly 100 youth from the Northern Cheyenne Tribe of Montana are taking part in the 11th annual Fort Robinson Outbreak Spiritual Run.

The youth are re-tracing the journey their ancestors made in January 1879. About 130 people -- primarily elders, women, and children -- escaped Fort Robinson in Nebraska to the Cheyenne homeland in Montana.

"This program offers a way to heal from historical trauma, learn its history and move beyond the trauma to progress to a better future," organizer Lynette Two Bulls told The Rapid City Journal.

The run began on Sunday and concludes on Thursday.Jodi Rave is blogging from the route on Buffalo's Fire.
