St. Regis Mohawk Tribe to reduce size of grocery store
The St. Regis Mohawk Tribe of New York is reducing the size of its grocery store by about half.

First Americans IGA will be cut from 50,000 square-feet to about 27,000 square-feet. The store was too big to serve the community, the manager said.

"It's hard to stock it; it doesn't look good if you have empty shelves," Bonnie E. McDonald told The Watertown Daily Times.

The tribe will erect a divider in the store and use the remainder of the space for other purposes, perhaps for new businesses.
