Mohawk First Nation continues non-member evictions
The Mohawk Council of Kahnawake is moving forward with evictions of non-members on the Quebec reserve.

The council sent 26 notices last week. Some have agreed to leave and others have shown they don't actually live on the reserve, CBC News reported.

About 12 people who haven't responded will receive a second notice. Chief Michael Deslisle Jr. said the band is only trying to preserve its identity and culture.

About 13,000 people live on the reserve.
